What with SE storming the market with sleek new phones, Nokia has become nothing more than a passing by-word for powerpacked but uncouth mobiles. So, Nokia released it's 8800 series for it's classier customers and was back in the big race again.

Coming to this series is yet another cell - Nokia Erdos. Fashioned from a single piece of stainless steel, one wonders why there's an R in ERDOS.

What with SE storming the market with sleek new phones, Nokia has become nothing more than a passing by-word for powerpacked but uncouth mobiles. Therefore, it released it’s 8800(Arte) series for it’s classier customers.

Coming to this series is yet another cell – Nokia Erdos. Fashioned from a single piece of stainless steel, one wonders why there’s a D in Erdos.

Then again, we have a delicate glass slide which covers the display when in standby mode. There is also a “rising keypad” that is designed to match the display’s level when the user slides it. Style Redefined!

It’s key features are:

2.4 inch OLED display with 320 x 240 pixels and 16 million colors

Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) and dual-band WCDMA connectivity

Wi-Fi

A-GPS

Stereo Bluetooth5MP Carl Zeiss camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and video recording

8GB of internal memory

Also, the phone has been reported to have Symbian support, giving it smartphone capabilities.

With these features and it’s stunning style points, it’s definitely going to end up in a very high budget bracket.

It should be announced officially next month. Until then, happy drooling.

US FCC leaked two pics of the latest buzz around the corner – Nokia 5800i. 5800 did claim a sure hit in the market and so, expectations are quite high from this phone.

It’s new features include a 4.7 mm focusing range against the original 3.6mm. This means a larger sensor behind those Carl-Zeiss optics. These could make up for the otherwise poor performance of this phone’s camera.

Another point to be noted is that it lacks Wi-fi. Though no one knows why Nokia did this, a common guess can be that the price is going down.

Though the specs have not been released, the processor is sure to get a boost as 5530’s processor is already faster than 5800’s and this is Nokia’s another flagship model.

Overall, a nice phone to wait for.

Another shot :
